Mary Lambert - Writer/Director

Filmmaker Mary Lambert began her career directing Madonna’s music videos. In the early days of MTV, she directed Borderline, Material Girl, Isla Bonita, Like a Virgin and the groundbreaking video for Like a Prayer. She also did videos for Janet Jackson, The Eurythmics, Mick Jagger, Motley Crue, Chrissie Hynde, Bobby Brown, and others as well as commercials, video games, and Saturday Night Live shorts. In 1987, she made her feature film debut with the mysterious psychological thriller Siesta. Starring Ellen Barkin, Gabriel Byrne, Jodie Foster and Julian Sands, the film was nominated at the Independent Spirit Awards for Best First Feature. Next up for Lambert were the horror flicks Pet Sematary and Pet Sematary Two. Her work also includes episodes of HBO’s Tales From the Crypt, Showtime’s Drive-In Classics, VH1’s Strange Frequency, and Return to Halloweentown for Disney Channel. In 2000, she made the features Clubland and The In Crowd. Next, she returned to the horror genre with Urban Legends: Bloody Mary and The Attic. In 2007, she directed, produced, and photographed the documentary 14 Women, a film profiling the female members of the U.S. Senate which will have its cable premiere on Sundance Channel in October 08 and was one of the highlights of the 2008 Democratic Party Convention. Her most recent endeavor, the webisode series, The Dark Path Chronicles, will debut in the United States on FEARnet and has been picked up for international distribution by Content International.
